Assign tasks to team members and track tasks for the project. In some installations of Qeystone Tools, Tasks may not be available in the Project Manager.

Add a task

  1. In the Project Manager, double-click Tasks.
  2. Click the cell named Click here to add a task and type a name for the task.
  3. Press Tab to move to other columns and enter other information about the task.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. To add a description and comments, select the task and click Additional Data on the task pane.
  6. To link a tool to a task, click a cell in the Tool Link column for the task and select the tool.

Filter the task list

  1. In the Project Manager, double-click Tasks.
  2. To filter the task list, choose Actions > Show and choose one of the following filters:
    Filter Result
    All Tasks View all the tasks in the project
    High Priority View only those tasks with a priority of High
    Overdue View only those tasks with a due date older than today's date
    My Tasks View only those tasks assigned to you
    Completed View only those tasks with a status of Completed
    Uncompleted View all the tasks that are still in progress

View or edit the information about a task

You can view or modify the information about a task in the Properties dialog box.

  1. Right-click the task and choose Properties.
  2. View or modify the information on any tab.
  3. Click OK.

Sort, move, and show/hide columns

Complete any of the following actions:

Action Instruction
Sort by a column Click the column header
Move a column Drag the column header to the new location
Show or hide a column Right-click the column header and check or uncheck the column name
Resize a column Drag a border in the column header

Create a Gantt Chart from existing tasks

You can use the Task Progress Report to create a Gantt Chart from existing tasks.

Note

To create a Gantt Chart from existing tools, open the Tool Progress Report.

  1. Choose File > New > Form.
  2. In the New dialog box, choose Task Progress Report, and then click OK.
  3. Under the chart, in the Tasks table, pause the pointer on a row. When the blue arrow appears, click it, and then choose Select Existing Tasks.
  4. Select all the tasks that you want to include in the chart and click OK.
