Specify graph displays for Normal Capability Analysis for Multiple Variables

Stat > Quality Tools > Capability Analysis > Multiple Variables (Normal) > Graphs
Histogram with density function overlaid
Select to display histograms with an overlaid density function for each variable.
  • Same x-axis scaling: Display the histogram of all variables using the same x-axis scale. To specify the range of values to show on the histogram, enter minimum and maximum values. If you don't enter values, Minitab determines the x-axis range from your data.
    Minimum
Enter a minimum value to display on the x-axis of the overlaid histogram of all the variables.
    Maximum
Enter a maximum value to display on the x-axis of the overlaid histogram of all the variables.
  • Different x-axis scaling: Display a histogram of each variable using a different x-axis scale. To specify the range of values to show on each scale of the histogram, enter minimum and maximum values. If you don't enter values, Minitab determines the x-axis ranges from your data.
    Minimum
To specify a minimum value to display on the x-axis for each variable, enter one value, multiple values, or a column of values. If you enter one value, it applies to all variables or groups. If you enter multiple values, or a column with multiple values, the values correspond sequentially to the columns that you entered in Variables or to the groups in the By variables column.
    Maximum
To specify a maximum value to display on the x-axis for each variable, enter one value, multiple values or a column. If you enter one value, it applies to all variables or groups. If you enter multiple values, or a column with multiple values, the values correspond sequentially to the columns that you entered in Variables or to the groups in the By variables column.
Normal probability plot
Display a normal probability plot for each variable. Use the normal probability plot to evaluate whether the data for each variable follow a normal distribution, which is an important assumption for normal capability analysis.
