Complete the following steps to create a worksheet that includes the standard values, the number of samples, the appraisers, and the replicates for your study.

To restore the default settings in the dialog box, press the F3 key.

Specify information about the standard values

Specify whether you have standard values and how to represent them in the worksheet.

Sample standard/attribute unknown

Select this option when you do not have standard values for each sample.

From the drop-down list, select Sample standard/attribute unknown.
In Number of samples, enter the number of samples in your study. You can have from 2 to 200 samples.
Under Sample Name, use the default sample numbers or type unique names to identify each sample. You can use text, numbers, or any combination of both.

Sample standard/attribute in text

Select this option when you want to type text values into the dialog box to use for standard values for each sample.

From the drop-down list, select Sample standard/attribute in text.
In Number of samples, enter the number of samples in your study. You can have from 2 to 200 samples.
Under Sample Name, use the default sample numbers or type unique names to identify each sample. You can use text, numbers, or any combination of both.
Under Text Standard, type the standard values for each sample. Because you selected Sample standard/attribute in text from the drop-down list, you must enter text values.

Sample standard/attribute in numeric values

Select this option when you want to type numeric values into the dialog box to use for standard values for each sample.

From the drop-down list, select Sample standard/attribute in numeric values.
In Number of samples, enter the number of samples that are to be evaluated in your study. You can have from 2 to 200 samples.
Under Sample Name, use the default sample numbers or type unique names to identify each sample. You can use text, numbers, or any combination of both.
Under Numeric Standard, type the standard values for each sample. Because you selected Sample standard/attribute in numeric values from the drop-down list, you must enter numeric values.

Sample standard/attribute in worksheet

Select this option when you have a column of samples and a column of standard values in the worksheet.

From the drop-down list, select Sample standard/attribute in worksheet.
In Samples, enter the column that contains the sample identifiers. Each sample name must be unique.
Under Known standards, enter the column that contains the standard values. Each sample must have a standard value.

Specify the number of appraisers

Specify the number of appraisers and the appraiser identifiers.

In Number of appraisers, enter the number of appraisers who measure samples. You can have as many as 50 appraisers.
Under Appraiser Name, use the default numeric identifiers or type unique names to identify each appraiser. You can use text, numbers, or any combination of both.

Specify the number of replicates

In Number of replicates, enter the number of times that you want to evaluate each sample. You can have as many as 50 replicates.
