Overview for Analyze Taguchi Design (Dynamic)

Use Analyze Taguchi Design (Dynamic) to identify controllable factors in your process that can minimize response variation and make your product insensitive to changes in noise factors.

In a dynamic design, you have a signal factor and the goal is to improve the relationship between a signal factor and an output response. For more information, go to Taguchi designs.

Before you can analyze your data, you must use Create Taguchi Design or Define Custom Taguchi Design to enter or define your design in the worksheet. You also need to add at least one response column in your worksheet.

For example, a team of engineers at an automobile supplier wants to ensure consistent product dimensions for several plastic parts. They identify several control factors, such as injection temperature, injection pressure, and material. They identify several noise factors, such as humidity and mold wear. They also identify a signal factor of mold dimension. The response is part dimension. Because the process includes a signal factor, the engineers analyze a dynamic Taguchi design.

After you analyze your data, you can use Predict Taguchi Results to predict signal-to-noise ratios (S/N ratios) and response characteristics for selected factor settings using the model from your Taguchi experiment.

Where to find this analysis

Stat > DOE > Taguchi > Analyze Taguchi Design

When to use an alternate analysis

If you do not have a signal factor, use Analyze Taguchi Design (Static).
