Create a simple set of date/time values

Calc > Make Patterned Data > Simple Set of Date/Time Values

Complete the following steps to fill a column with a set of equally-spaced date/time values, such as every seven days for six months.

  1. In Store patterned data in, enter a column number (for example, C1) or a column name. If the name contains spaces, enclose the name in single quotation marks.
  2. Enter the Patterned Sequence.
    1. In From first date/time, enter the first value of the sequence. The format must be one that Minitab recognizes. For more information, go to Date/time formats that Minitab recognizes.
    2. In To last date/time, enter the last possible value of the sequence.
    3. In In steps of, enter the increment for the sequence.
    4. In Step unit, select the unit for the increments. The Workday option includes all weekdays (Monday-Friday) within the specified date/time sequence.
  3. Enter the repeat information for the pattern.
    1. In Number of times to list each value, enter the number of consecutive times to list each value in the sequence.
    2. In Number of times to list the sequence, enter the number of times to repeat the entire sequence.

For example, these settings create the following column of data.

  • From first date/time: 1 Jan
  • To last date/time: 9 Jan
  • In steps of: 3
  • Step unit: Day
  • Number of times to list each value: 2
  • Number of times to list the sequence: 3
