Specify the type of design for Create Taguchi Design

Stat > DOE > Taguchi > Create Taguchi Design

Complete the following steps to specify the number of levels and the number of factors in your Taguchi design. You can click Display Available Designs to view a table of the available Taguchi designs to help you select an appropriate design.

  1. In Type of Design, select the design based on the number of levels you have for each factor.
    • 2-Level Design: Use when each factor has 2 levels. You can have between 2 and 31 factors.
    • 3-Level Design: Use when each factor has 3 levels. You can have between 2 and 13 factors.
    • 4-Level Design: Use when each factor has 4 levels. You can have between 2 and 5 factors.
    • 5-Level Design: Use when each factor has 5 levels. You can have between 2 and 6 factors.
    • Mixed Level Design: Use when different factors have different numbers of levels. You can have between 2 and 26 factors, depending on how many levels the different factors have. For more information, go to Display Available Designs to view a table of available Taguchi designs.
  2. In Number of factors, select how many control factors to study.
  3. Before Minitab creates the design, you must click Designs to specify other design characteristics.
