Overview for Fully Nested ANOVA

Use Fully Nested ANOVA to determine whether factors in a fully nested model affect the response variable. All factors in the model must be random factors.

For example, an analyst wants to determine whether randomly selected machines and operators affect the tensile strength of aluminum tubes. Because each machine has a different set of operators, operator is nested within machine.

Where to find this analysis

To perform a fully nested ANOVA, choose Stat > ANOVA > Fully Nested ANOVA.

When to use an alternate analysis

If your model is not fully nested or if you have any fixed factors, use Fit General Linear Model.
