Start a process map from Minitab Workspace
- From the Minitab Solution Center
Home page, select Minitab Workspace
. - Select Start Map AI
. - Provide process information in one or both of the following ways.
- To upload images, select Add, drag and drop images, or copy and paste images to the center of the dialog. When converting handwritten sketches or whiteboard diagrams, use clear images with readable text or representative symbols. Supported image formats include JPEG, JPG, PNG, and WEBP.
- Enter a description of the process. For example, enter a sequence of process steps or copy and paste instructions from a standard operating procedure.
- In Minitab Workspace, you can choose whether to replace the current process map or create a new process map because Workspace projects can contain multiple process maps.
- Select Generate.
- Review the results to make sure that the shapes, text, connectors, and relationships accurately represent the process. Edit the map as necessary. For information about how to arrange the map, go to Add a map. To add process or lean data, go to Add data to a map.
Note
Workspace does not validate the process, but it will make objective improvements to create the best process map when explicit details are not included in the text prompt or image.
Start a process map from an open process map
After you open a process map in Minitab Workspace, you can continue to use AI to generate process maps from images and text.

In a Minitab Workspace project, when a process map is not open, select Tools, then select Start Map AI.
