Share simulation results with Minitab Dashboards

Use Share to publish results from Minitab Simul8 to Minitab Dashboards in Minitab Solution Center. Share creates a dashboard that stakeholders can use to explore results and evaluate different aspects of the process without installing Minitab Simul8.

Before you begin

Before you share results, verify the following:

  • Your simulation contains the results that you want stakeholders to review.
  • You have access to a paid subscription or trial version of Minitab Solution Center.
  • You have access to a paid subscription or trial version of Simul8 Twin.

Share your simulation results with Minitab Dashboards

Before you can share your simulation with others, you must share your simulation with Minitab Dashboards. Simul8 uploads summary results data, internal spreadsheets, and global data items. Minitab Dashboards then imports the data and makes it available as data sources for dashboard assets.

  1. In Minitab Simul8, open the completed simulation that you want to share.
  2. Choose File > Share, then select Open in Minitab Dashboards. You can also select Share on the Home tab.
  3. If you have more than one Minitab Solution Center subscription, choose the one you want to use.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
    • Start with a results dashboard: Choose this option when you want to generate a pre-populated dashboard. Simul8 uploads the required results and opens a default dashboard showing total throughput, KPIs, utilization, and bottlenecks.
    • Start with a blank dashboard: Choose this option when you want to build your own dashboard. Simul8 uploads the required simulation results data and then you can choose the Minitab Dashboards assets and internal Simul8 spreadsheets to use.

After Minitab Dashboards imports your simulation results, you can create shareable dashboards using any of the features and assets available in Minitab Dashboards. For more information, go to Overview of Minitab Dashboards.

If the simulation includes global variables or data for pie charts, histograms, or time series charts, those outputs are also imported and available as data sources for dashboard assets. You must add internal spreadsheets as Output Sheets or Live Input Sheets to make the data available in the dashboard. For more information, go to Minitab Simul8® in Dashboards.

Share your dashboard with stakeholders

From Minitab Dashboards, you can share a dashboard with anyone who has a Minitab Solution Center license, even if the dashboard contains Simul8 assets.
