Collection method
This global setting sets the default data collection method for all sampling plans.
Select Analysis
Preferences
in the
Engineering portal, then navigate to .
- Use Automatic when all the data for a sampling plan are in a single Minitab Connect data table.
- Use Data Collection Form to specify the data source for each measure and descriptor with a combination of data entry methods.

Specification range indicator
This global setting sets the default specification range indicator for all sampling
plans. Select Analysis
Preferences
in the
Engineering portal, then navigate to .
Measurements that are out-of-specification show a warning, so you can assign a special cause or add comments.
Display sampling instructions
- Select Analysis
Preferences
in the Engineering portal, then navigate to .
- Select Display measure instructions to display available measure instructions on every form.
- Select Display descriptor instructions to display available descriptor instructions on every form.
- Save your changes.
