Add a new configuration template

Add a new configuration template to the automated component setup page.

  1. Open the Automated Component Setup page.
  2. Select New .
  3. Enter a name for the new configuration and an optional description, then select OK. Configuration names are case-insensitive and must be unique.

Specify the configuration settings

Specify the variables to include in each configuration setup.
  1. Open the Automated Component Setup page.
  2. Select and open the configuration template, then select Edit Configuration.
  3. Follow the sequential steps to choose the configuration type, source data, and storage data.
    1. Specify the configuration type. Then select Next. Each measure type must have its own configuration setup. For more information, go to Configuration types.
    2. Specify the Connect data view that contains the component information. Then select Next.
    3. Map the data view columns to the master data variables. Then select Next. Data variables with asterisks are required.
    4. Review the preview pane and proceed to the next step or cancel to remap your variables. The preview pane displays the first 20 records, including both mapped and unmapped variables and empty rows.
    5. Specify the storage location for new incoming components.
      Warning

      Modified components are updated in their original location of the subscription hierarchy.
  4. Save your changes.

Specify the configuration import schedule

Specify the frequency to import new master data.
  1. Open the Automated Component Setup page.
  2. Select and open the configuration template, then select Edit Schedule.
  3. In Frequency, specify how often to import the new master data.
    Daily Specify the time of day and your time zone.
    Weekly Specify the day of week, the time of day and your time zone.
    Monthly Specify the day of the month, the time of day and your time zone. If a given month has less days than the specified import day, the import will run on the last day of the month.
    If you do not want to set an automatic schedule, select Manual only.
  4. Save your changes.
