Added variable plots or partial regression plots

Use this macro to create Added Variable Plots which are also known as Partial Regression Plots. These plots show the effect of adding an additional independent variable, X, to a model that already includes one or more independent variables.

Use this macro to create Added Variable Plots which are also known as Partial Regression Plots. These plots show the effect of adding an additional independent predictor variable, X, to a model that already includes one or more independent predictor variables.

Download the Macro

Be sure that Minitab knows where to find your downloaded macro. Choose File > Options > General. Under Macro location and browse to the location where you save macro files.

Important

If you use an older web browser, when you click the Download button, the file may open in Quicktime, which shares the .mac file extension with Minitab macros. To save the macro, right-click the Download button and choose Save target as.

Required Inputs

  • One response variable (Y)
  • One or more independent predictor variables (X1, X2, X3, and so on)

Running the Macro

Suppose your response variable is in Y and the predictor variables are in X1, X2, and X3. To run the macro, choose View > Command Line/History and type

%AVPLOTS Y X1 X2 X3.

Click Run.
