Selelect the failure modes to include in the analysis. You can also select a different
distribution for each failure mode. For more information on failure modes, go to What is a failure mode?.
- Failure Mode
- Deselect a failure mode to exclude it from the analysis.
- Distribution
- Select a distribution to model the failure mode. Change the selection only when one or more
failure modes use a different distribution than the distribution that you
selected in the main dialog box.
- Sample Columns
- If the analysis includes multiple samples, then this column shows which samples
contain the failure mode. You cannot enter values in this column.
- Reset distributions to default
- Select to use the distribution from the main dialog box for all failure
modes.
Selections that you make for the distribution of failure modes affect the options for
distribution fitting, tests, and results.
- Distribution Fitting
- To set a threshold parameter, every failure mode must use a distribution
that has a threshold parameter.
- If the distribution for one failure mode is exponential and the distribution
of another failure mode is different, the analysis does not accept
parameters to set or historical estimates of parameters.
- If the distribution for all failure modes is exponential, the analysis
accepts historical estimates of the parameters. The analysis does not accept
parameters to set.
- Tests
- To test whether a treshold parameter equals a value, every failure mode must
use a distribution with a threshold parameter.
- Results
- To show tables with results for individual failure modes, select Display analysis results for individual failure modes.
Note
If you do not know which distribution adequately models the failure modes in your data, use
Distribution ID
Plot before you use this analysis.
