Select the options for Distribution Overview Plot with a distribution

Stat > Reliability/Survival > Distribution Analysis > Distribution Overview Plot > Options

If you selected a specific distribution, then you can specify the following options.

Estimation Method
  • Maximum Likelihood: Estimate the distribution parameters by maximizing the likelihood function.
  • Least Squares (failure time(X) on rank(Y)): Estimate the distribution parameters by fitting a regression line to the points on a probability plot.

For more information on these two methods, go to Least squares estimation method and maximum likelihood estimation method.

Plot tied points
When the data are right-censored or complete, the analysis has options for the display of tied points.
  • All points: Plot the cumulative percents for each occurrence of a failure time.
  • Average (median) of tied points: Plot the median cumulative percent of identical failure times.
  • Maximum of tied points: Plot the maximum cumulative percent of identical failure times.
Display censored observations on probability plot
Include symbols for right-censored and left-censored observations on the probability plot. Left-censored observations are only possible to specify with interval-censored data.
Display sample plots
Indicate how you want to display the graphs for multiple samples. You can overlay the graphs or you can display each graph separately.
Minimum and maximum X scale (optional)
To use default values, do not enter values. Otherwise, enter the minimum and maximum values for the X scale.
Store transformed warranty data
If the analysis uses warranty data that was a triangular matrix, then you can store the data as interval censored data for use with Warranty Prediction.
