Stat > Regression > Poisson Regression > Fit Poisson Model
Complete the following steps to specify the columns of data that you want to analyze.
In Response, enter the column of Poisson data that you want to explain or predict. Poisson data are counts per unit, such as the number of defects in a sample. The response is also called the Y variable.
(Optional) In Frequency, enter the column that contains the counts that correspond to the response values.
In Continuous predictors, enter the columns of numeric data that may explain or predict changes in the response. The predictors are also called X variables.
In Categorical predictors, enter the categorical classifications or group assignments, such as a type of raw materials, that may explain or predict changes in the response. The predictors are also called X variables.
In this worksheet, Discoloration is the response and contains the number of discoloration defects in molded parts. Hours and Temp are continuous predictors and Screw size is a categorical predictor.
