Modify the factor names and assign values for the factor settings. Usually, you modify factors because you did not specify levels for the factors during design creation. The default levels are coded sequential integers, 1, 2, 3, and so on.
For example, an engineer creates a Taguchi design to study the effects of 3 control factors, each with 2 levels. During the design creation in Minitab, the engineer did not specify the factor levels. Thus, Minitab codes the factor levels as 1 and 2. Before collecting the data, the engineer wants to specify the factor levels with more meaningful values.
If you specified factor levels when you created the design, you can use Display Design to change between coded and uncoded factor levels.
