Minitab estimates the unknown parameters in the mixed effects model by maximizing the restricted likelihood function, or equivalently, minimizing the negative of twice the restricted log likelihood. The iteration history table shows the number of iterations until the algorithm converges and the value of the –2 log likelihood at each iteration. Minitab displays the iteration history table only if you select Iteration history on the Results subdialog.
