What is process tolerance?

The process tolerance is the amount of variation that a part can have and still meet the customer's requirements. Specifically, process tolerance is the difference between the upper specification and the lower specification.

For example, for an upper specification of 0.36 mm and a lower specification of 0.34 mm, the process tolerance is 0.02 mm.
