Minitab includes several measurement systems analyses to help you determine how much of the variation in your process is from your measurement system.
Gage R&R study worksheet
To plan how to collect and organize data for a gage R&R study or a Wheeler's EMP study, use
a gage R&R study worksheet. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Create Gage R&R Study Worksheet.
Crossed gage R&R study
If each operator measures each part in your study, use a crossed gage R&R study to evaluate
the measurement process with criteria in use by the Automotive Industry Action
Group (AIAG)1. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage R&R Study (Crossed).
Evaluate Measurement Process (EMP) crossed study
If each operator measures each part in your study, use an EMP crossed study to
evaluate the measurement process with criteria that describe how useful the
measurement process is for improvement activities2. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage R&R Study (Crossed).
Nested gage R&R study
If each operator cannot measure all parts, use a nested gage R&R study. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage R&R Study (Nested).
Expanded gage R&R study
If you have a unique study design, such as a design that includes factors other than operator and part, or have an unbalanced design, use an expanded gage R&R study. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage R&R Study (Expanded).
Type 1 gage study
If one operator measures one reference part multiple times, use a type 1 gage study to perform a preliminary evaluation of your measurement system. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Type 1 Gage Study.
Gage run chart
To see how measurements vary between operators and parts in order to identify sources of variation in a measurement system, use a gage run chart. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage Run Chart.
Gage linearity and bias study
To evaluate the accuracy of your measurement device across its operating range when you have reference values for each representative part, use a gage linearity and bias study. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Gage Linearity and Bias Study.
Attribute gage study (analytic method)
To evaluate whether your attribute measurement device, such as go/no-go gage, is accurate and consistent use an attribute gage study. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Attribute Gage Study (Analytic Method).
Attribute agreement analysis worksheet
To plan how to collect and organize data for an attribute agreement analysis, create an attribute agreement analysis worksheet. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Create Attribute Agreement Analysis
Worksheet.
Attribute agreement analysis
To evaluate the accuracy and precision of subjective ratings that are made by multiple appraisers, use an attribute agreement analysis. In Minitab, choose Stat > Quality Tools > Gage Study > Attribute Agreement Analysis.
