Percent of the tolerance for calculating Cg
Enter a constant to specify the percent of the tolerance for calculating Cg and CgK. The default value is 20, and values that are from 10 to 20 are common. However, you can enter any positive value that is from 0 to 100.
Study variation
Enter a constant to multiply by the standard deviation to estimate the variation in the measurements. The default multiplier is 6, which is the number of standard deviations that is needed to include 99.73% of your measurements.
Note
If you provide only one specification, and you want to include 99.73% of your measurements, you do not need to change the 6 to a 3. Minitab divides the constant by 2 for these calculations.
Resolution
Enter a known gage resolution value. If you specify both the resolution and the tolerance (upper specification - lower specification), Minitab determines whether the resolution is less than, equal to, or greater than 5% of the tolerance. The guideline for the resolution is that it should not be greater than 5% of the tolerance.
No bias test
Select this option if you don't want Minitab to test for bias.
