Specify whether to display results for VDA 5 and
indicate the values to use for any applicable sources of uncertainty.
Display VDA 5
results
Select this option to calculate statistics for a VDA 5 study, such as uMS
and %QMS.
Source of uncertainty
(error)
Enter values greater than 0 for sources of uncertainty to include in the analysis. To
leave a source of uncertainty out of the calculations, do not enter a value.
Calibration (uCAL)
Specify the calibration uncertainty (uCAL) in the units of the data. The
calibration uncertainty is the uncertainty in the known value of the
reference standard. the determination of the uncertainty is part of many
calibration processes. Usually, this value comes from the calibration
certificate.
Linearity (uLIN)
Specify the linearity uncertainty (uLIN) in the units of the data. The
linearity uncertainty is the uncertainty from changes in the bias of the
gage across its measurement range. Usually, this value comes from a
linearity study where the reference part was within the range of
measurements.
Other factors
(uREST)
Specify the uncertainty because of any other factors that add uncertainty.
For example, if you know that the measurements have greater variation when
the data collection is at a higher temperature, enter a value to account for
uncertainty due to temperature. Enter values in the units of the data.
If you have separate values for multiple additional factors, the analysis
calculates their combined effect. Specify up to 100 values that are greater
than 0. Separate multiple values with spaces.
You can also specify a column that contains values from the other factors.
In the column, use up to 100 values that are greater than 0.
