Heatmap for Visualize Relationships With Months On Hand

Use Heatmap to visualize average months of available inventory by multiple categorical variables.

Example

Months on hand is the number of months of available inventory that exists if no new purchases are made and sales continue as forecasted. To calculate months on hand inventory, divide the value of the inventory by the cost of goods sold. Then multiply by the number of months in the time period.

In this worksheet, Months on Hand is the graph variable. Item is the row variable. Collection and Style are the column variables.

How-to

  1. Choose Solutions Modules > Functions > Supply Chain KPIs, then select Launch.
  2. Under Inventory, select Months on hand.
  3. Select Visualize relationships with months on hand, then click OK.
  4. Select Heatmap, then click OK.
  5. From Display, select Function of a variable.
  6. In Graph variables enter the column that contains the months of inventory data.
  7. From Function, select the function of months on hand inventory. For example, if you select Mean, the color gradient of the rectangles in the heatmap uses the mean value of months of available inventory in each rectangle.
  8. In Row variables enter up to five columns that define the rows.
  9. In Column variables enter up to five columns that define the columns.
  10. Click OK.
