Heatmap for Visualize Relationships With Days Sales Of Inventory

Use Heatmap to visualize average inventory days of supply by multiple categorical variables.

Example

Inventory days of supply is the number of days until inventory is depleted if the company does not add to its supply. To calculate inventory days of supply, first divide the value of the average inventory by the expected product demand. Then multiply this ratio by the number of days in the time period. Inventory days of supply is usually calculated monthly.

In this worksheet, Days of Supply is the graph variable. Item is the row variable. Collection and Style are the column variables.

How-to

  1. Choose Solutions Modules > Functions > Supply Chain KPIs, then select Launch.
  2. Under Inventory, select Inventory days of supply.
  3. Select Visualize relationships with days sales of inventory, then click OK.
  4. Select Heatmap, then click OK.
  5. From Display, select Function of a variable.
  6. In Graph variables enter the inventory days of supply data.
  7. From Function, select the function of inventory days of supply. For example, if you select Mean, the color gradient of the rectangles in the heatmap uses the mean value of inventory days of supply in each rectangle.
  8. In Row variables enter up to five columns that define the rows.
  9. In Column variables enter up to five columns that define the columns.
  10. Click OK.
