Time Series Plot for Visualize Days Sales Of Inventory and Forecast Days Sales Of Inventory

Use Time Series Plot to visualize trends in days sales of inventory. Then you can choose between single exponential smoothing and double exponential smoothing to forecast days sales of inventory.

Example

Days sales of inventory (DSI) is the average number of days to sell all inventory and WIP (work-in-progress). To calculate days sales of inventory, first divide the value of the inventory by the cost of goods sold. Then multiply this ratio by the number of days in the time period.

In this worksheet, DSI Days is the graph variable in time order.

How-to

  1. Choose Solutions Modules > Functions > Supply Chain KPIs, then select Launch.
  2. Under Inventory, select Days sales of inventory.
  3. Select Visualize days sales of inventory or Forecast days sales of inventory, then click OK.
  4. Select Time Series Plot, then click OK.
  5. In Series (desktop app) or Y-variable (web app), enter the column that contains the days sales of inventory data.
  6. Click OK.
