Use Bar Chart: Function of a Variable to visualize a function of total or average days sales of inventory by one categorical variable.

Example

Days sales of inventory (DSI) is the average number of days to sell all inventory and WIP (work-in-progress). To calculate days sales of inventory, first divide the value of the inventory by the cost of goods sold. Then multiply this ratio by the number of days in the time period.

In this worksheet, DSI Days is the graph variable. Collection is the categorical variable.

How-to

  1. Choose Solutions Modules > Functions > Supply Chain KPIs, then select Launch.
  2. Under Inventory, select Days sales of inventory.
  3. Select Visualize relationships with days sales of inventory, then click OK.
  4. Select Bar Chart: Function of a Variable, then click OK.
  5. From Function, select the function of days sales of inventory that you want to graph.
  6. In Graph variables (desktop app) or Y-variable (web app), enter the column that contains the days sales of inventory data.
  7. In Categorical variable, enter the column of categorical data that defines the groups.
  8. Click OK.
