Gage Run Chart for Perform Crossed Study

Use Gage Run Chart to assess differences in measurements between different operators and different parts.

With a destructive test, you can use a crossed gage study just as you would for a non-destructive test if you can assume that the parts are similar enough to be considered the same part.
Note

This homogeneity assumption is critical to obtain meaningful results. Because Minitab assumes the replicates use the same, identical part, label the parts in the worksheet with the same part ID (e.g., Part 1), even though they are not identical parts.

This example applies to the Measurement System Analysis Module. For more information, go to www.minitab.com/measurement-system-analysis-module.

Example

In this worksheet, Part contains the part number identifiers, Operator contains the operator identifiers, Measurement contains the measurements of each part.

C1 C2-T C3
Part Operator Measurement
6 A 0.29
4 A 0.41
3 A 0.64
10 A -0.56
2 A -0.68

How-to

  1. Choose Solutions Modules > Capabilities > Measurement System Analysis, then select Launch.
  2. Under Destructive Gage R&R Study, select Select a Destructive Gage R&R Study.
  3. Select Perform crossed study, then click OK.
  4. Select Gage Run Chart, then click OK.
  5. In Part numbers, enter the column that contains the part names or numbers.
  6. In Operators, enter the column that contains the operator names or numbers.
  7. In Measurement data, enter the column that contains the observed measurements.
  8. Click OK.
