In this worksheet, Recommend? is the response. Age is a continuous predictor, and Facility is a categorical predictor.

How-to

  1. From the Healthcare KPIs: Predict Multiple Choice Survey Responses dialog box, select CART® Classification, then click OK.
  2. From the drop-down list, select Binary response.
  3. In Response, enter the column that contains the binary survey response. Binary variables are categorical variables that have two possible levels, such as pass/fail or true/false. The response is also called the Y variable.
  4. In Continuous predictors, enter the continuous variables that may explain or predict the survey response. The predictors are also called X variables.
  5. In Categorical predictors, enter the categorical classifications or group assignments, such as facility, that may explain or predict the survey response. The predictors are also called X variables.
  6. Click OK.
