2-Sample Poisson Rate

Example

In this worksheet, the Falls Before and Falls After columns contain the number of falls before and after a process improvement. The Patient Days Before and Patient Days After columns contain the total number of patient days before and after the process improvement. You can enter these observations directly in the dialog box instead of storing them in the Minitab worksheet.

How-to

From the Healthcare KPIs: Decrease Patient Falls dialog box, select 2-Sample Poisson Rate, then click OK.
From the drop-down list, select Summarized data.
In Sample size, enter the number of falls before and after the process improvement.
In Total occurrences, enter the total number of patient days before and after the process improvement.
Click Options. In Alternative hypothesis, choose Difference > hypothesized difference.
Click OK.
