Example

In this worksheet, Reimbursement Amount is the response. Hospitalization Days and Number of Procedures are continuous predictors. The predictors may explain differences in reimbursement amount.

How-to

  1. From the Healthcare KPIs: Predict Reimbursement Amounts dialog box, select CART® Regression, then click OK.
  2. In Response, enter the reimbursement amount column. The response is also called the Y variable.
  3. In Continuous predictors, enter the continuous variables that may explain or predict changes in the reimbursement amount. The predictors are also called X variables.
  4. In Categorical predictors, enter the categorical classifications or group assignments, such as facility, that may explain or predict changes in the reimbursement amount. The predictors are also called X variables.
  5. Click OK.
