Text data are often used to specify categories. For example, a column may contain the text values "Male" and "Female" for the two values of gender. Text data that you enter must meet the following criteria:
Values can be up to 80 characters long
Values can use any characters (for example, letters, numbers, punctuation marks, and blanks)
You can store text data in columns and stored constants, but not matrices.
