Hypotheses for 2 Proportions

For a 2 proportions test, the hypotheses are as follows.
Null hypothesis
H0: p1– p2 = d0 The difference between the population proportions (p1– p2) equals the hypothesized difference (d0).
Alternative hypothesis
Select one of the following alternative hypotheses.
H1: p1– p2 ≠ d0 The difference between the population proportions (p1– p2) does not equal the hypothesized difference (d0).
H1: p1– p2 > d0 The difference between the population proportions (p1– p2) is greater than the hypothesized difference (d0).
H1: p1– p2 < d0 The difference between the population proportions (p1– p2) is less than the hypothesized difference (d0).
