Specify design modifications for Modify Design

Select how you want to modify the design.

Modify factors for screening, factorial, and response surface designs

Modify the factor names and the factor level values.

  1. Under Modification, select Modify factors.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Modify factors.

Modify variables for mixture designs

Modify the component names and the process variable names and the process variable low and high values.

  1. Under Modification, select Modify variables.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Modify variables for mixture designs.

Replicate design

Add up to 10 replicates of your design.

  1. Under Modification, select Replicate design.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Replicate design.

Randomize design

Randomize the entire design or just randomize one of the blocks.

  1. Under Modification, select Randomize design.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Randomize design.

Renumber design

Renumber the design to set the run order column equal to the row numbers in the current worksheet.

  1. Under Modification, select Renumber design.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click OK.

Fold design

Fold the design as a way to reduce confounding. You can fold on all factors or on a single factor in factorial designs, Plackett-Burman designs, and split-plot designs.

  1. Under Modification, select Fold design.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Fold design.

Add axial points

Add axial points to a design to estimate the square terms for factors. You can add axial points to 2-level factorial designs and Plackett-Burman designs, if those designs have only continuous factors.

  1. Under Modification, select Add axial points.
  2. If you want to preserve the current worksheet, select Put modified design in a new worksheet.
  3. Click Specify and fill out the sub-dialog box. For more information, go to Add axial points.
