Enter your data for Balanced ANOVA

Stat > ANOVA > Balanced ANOVA

Complete the following steps to specify the columns of data that you want to analyze.

In Responses, enter the columns of numeric data that you want to explain or predict with the factors. If you enter more than one response, Minitab performs a separate analysis for each response. The response is also called the Y variable.
In Model, enter the terms that may explain or predict changes in the response. The variables must be categorical factors. You can include crossed and nested factors, and fixed and random factors. For more information on how to specify model terms, go to Specifying the model terms in balanced ANOVA and general MANOVA.
In Random factors, enter any columns that contain random factors. Random factors have levels that are selected at random; whereas fixed factors have levels that are controlled by the experimenter.

In this worksheet, Strength is the response and contains fiber strength measurements. Machine and Operator are random factors and may explain differences in fiber strength. The design is balanced because all combinations of operator and machine have the same number of observations. Note that not all of the observations are visible in this abbreviated worksheet.
