Enter your data for Fully Nested ANOVA

Stat > ANOVA > Fully Nested ANOVA

Complete the following steps to specify the columns of data that you want to analyze.

  1. In Responses, enter the column that contains the numeric data that you want to explain.
  2. In Factors, enter the columns that contain group classifications that may explain or predict changes in the response. The group classifications must represent random factors. Minitab nests the factors based on the order that you enter them. For example, if you enter the factors A B C, Minitab assumes B is nested in A, and C is nested in B, nested in A. For more information on nested factors, go to What are factors, crossed factors, and nested factors?.
In this worksheet, Temp is the response and contains the temperature readings of small furnaces in 4 manufacturing plants. Plant, Operator, and Shift are the random factors and may explain the variability in the temperature readings.
