Minitab offers an option for creating graphs that are similar to or exactly like others you've created. This option is available only for control charts and graphs created using the Graph menu.

Duplicate a graph

You can create an exact copy of a graph, including any added annotation items or edits.

  1. Right-click the graph and choose Make Similar Graph.
  2. Under New Variable, keep the original column to make a duplicate of the exact same graph.

Create the same graph, but with different variables

You can replace any of the variables used to create a graph without changing any of its other characteristics, including any editing you did to the graph.

  1. Right-click the graph and choose Make Similar Graph.
  2. Under New Variable, enter the columns that will replace the originals in the new graph.
For example, the following histogram of the variable Downstream includes customized bars and a fitted distribution line. Use Make Similar Graph to create an identical histogram for the variable Upstream.
Variable: Downstream
Variable: Upstream
