About graph layouts

Use a graph layout to organize multiple graphs from the same project on one page. For example, use to compare or contrast different graphs or emphasize a group of graphs for a report or presentation.

Create a graph layout

Create the graphs that you want to include in the layout. With a graph active, choose Editor > Layout Tool. Then indicate the number of rows and columns for the layout. The active graph is copied to the first cell in the layout.

To copy graphs to the layout, click the cell where you want to place the graph and do one of the following:
  • In the list box, double-click a graph name.
  • In the list box, click a graph name and then click the right arrow button .
  • Double-click the image of the selected item below the list box.

When you are done copying graphs to the layout, click Finish. The graph region color of the first graph copied to the layout determines the graph region color for the entire layout.

Note

If the worksheet data changes after you create a layout, you cannot update the graphs in the layout to display the data changes. You must re-create the layout with updated copies of the graphs.

Edit a graph layout

After you create a layout, you can edit individual graphs and graph groupings.

Select the graph layout, and then press the [Tab] key to cycle through the selected figure regions in the layout. If you want to add or edit items for the entire layout, rather than only a specific graph, ensure that no single figure region is selected. To copy graphs to or remove graphs from the layout, with the layout active, choose Editor > Layout Tool and use the arrow buttons to copy or remove graphs.

To move a graph within a layout, with the layout active, choose Editor > Layout Tool and drag the graph to the new location.
