How can I specify or change the network port number that the Minitab License Manager uses?

If your license manager is on a Windows computer, you can set a static port number for the Minitab License Manager (lmgrd.exe) by specifying the port number on the SERVER line of the license file.

1. Open minitab.lic with Notepad.
2. After the MAC address on the SERVER line, type a space and then the port number that you want to use. For example, to specify port 27009, type: SERVER this_host 00118C202559 27009.

   Note

   The specified port number must be between 27000 and 27009.

3. Save and close minitab.lic.
4. Ensure that the port is open on any firewalls that may exist.
5. Restart the Minitab License Manager. Type services.msc in the search box and press Enter.
6. Right-click Minitab License Manager and choose Restart.
