Reassign ideas and projects

Data architects and steering committee members can reassign a project to a different project owner. However, only steering committing members can reassign ideas and projects to different steering committees. They can also reassign review board members and phase due dates.

Reassign a project to a different project owner

At times, you might need to reassign a project to a different project owner, for example, if the current project owner is leaving the team.

You can also make someone else the owner of your project from the Projects page. For more information, go to Share projects.

  1. In the web app, on the Workflow page, select the Active stage. To reassign a Paused or Canceled project, you must resume it to make it active again.
  2. Select expand next to the idea or the project.
  3. Next to Review Board, select Edit Assignments.
  4. Next to Project Owner, select to remove the current project owner, then enter a different user name. When you reassign a project, Engage notifies the new project owner.
  5. Select Save.

Reassign an idea or a project to a different steering committee

Steering committees are assigned based on a selection the user makes on an idea form and how the data architect has configured workflow. For example, a data architect can configure workflow to route ideas by business unit, department, location, and so on. When a user selects an option from the designated routing field on an idea form, the idea is routed to the appropriate steering committee. If necessary, a steering committee member can reassign an idea or an active project at any time; however, the steering committee is only notified when an idea is reassigned.

  1. In the web app, on the Workflow page, select the idea or project to reassign.
    • To reassign an idea to a different steering committee, select the Idea stage or the Hopper stage. When you reassign an idea, Engage notifies the new steering committee. The steering committee members are responsible for rejecting or approving the idea, starting the approved idea as a project, assigning a project owner, and setting the phase due dates.
    • To reassign a project to a different steering committee, select the Active stage.
  2. Select expand next to the idea or the project.
  3. Next to Steering Committee, select Edit and select a different steering committee.
  4. Select Save.

Reassign review board members and phase due dates

When a steering committee member selects a methodology to start a project in the hopper, they must assign users to the various roles on the review board. Optionally, steering committee members can also assign due dates for each of the methodology's phases. If a review board member cannot fulfill their commitment to review a project, or if a phase due date needs to change, a steering committee member can reassign review board roles and phase due dates for an active project at any time.

  1. In the web app, on the Workflow page, select the Active stage.
  2. Select expand next to the project.
  3. Next to Review Board, select Edit Assignments and reassign the review board roles and phase due dates.
  4. Select Save.
