ANOVA

Use a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) when you have a categorical factor and a continuous response and want to determine whether the population means of two or more groups differ. To use an ANOVA, you must collect a sample of data at each level of the X variable.

Data considerations

Your data must be continuous values for Y (output) and include only one categorical variable (X) that is a fixed factor at 2 or more levels. For more details, go to Minitab Help: Data considerations for One-Way ANOVA.
