A template stores a set of fields and their properties. You can use a template to create a new table.
A template does not store data, but does store all of the following items.
  • Fields
  • Field Types
  • Forms
  • Flows
  • Data Processes
  • Views
  • Charts
  • Exports
  • Alarms
  • Raw to Clean Mapping
  • Auto Import Configurations

Create a template

  1. Open an existing table and go to the Base Tool.
    Note

    You cannot create a template from a mashup table or an SQL table.

  2. Select the Export Template button in the toolbar. Minitab Connect downloads the template as a TMM file.

Use an existing template

  1. Go to the Base Tool and select File/Text/Template.
  2. From Import Type, select Template. Then select the File button and browse to the location of the template you want to use. When you save, Minitab Connect creates a new table using the fields stored in the template.
