User access types and user groups

Minitab Connect allows you to give different access based on different types of users. Users have full access to all tables, forms, and other items they create. Permissions also depend on user groups.

Minitab Connect access type for users

Minitab Connect provides the following access type based on the user role.
Dashboard/Form
Can access forms, dashboards, and exports based on the user group permissions.
Standard
All permissions are the same as the dashboard/form user.

Can also create collections, views, visuals, exports, flows, alarms, and create and use all conditional formatting.

Creative/Power
All permissions are the same as the standard user.

Can also create and manage themes, dashboards, connections, field types, tables, forms, business processes, auto import configurations, raw to clean mapping, and file import locations.

Admin
All permissions are the same as the creative/power user.

Can also create and manage all non-Developer users and user groups in their customer account, as well as manage their customer settings. The Admin does not have access to users at the Developer level.

Developer
All permissions are the same as the admin user. The Developer has access to see all users because they are at the highest level.

Can also create SQL tables.

Select the Minitab Connect button to open the Navigation pane. Then open the System tab . Under Tools, open the Users tab .

From here, you can select a user. On the Info tab, you can see the access type for a user.
Note

If you are an Admin, you can update the access type for a user.

Minitab Connect user groups

Minitab Connect provides the following default user groups. For more information on how to create new user groups, go to Create a new user group or edit an existing user group.
All Tables (Read/Write/Delete)
Default user group that provides read, write, and delete access to all tables.
All Tables (Read Only)
Default user group that provides read-only access to all tables.
Full Access
Default user group that provides create, read, write, delete, and execute access to the following items.

  • Tables (File)
  • Forms
  • Dashboards
  • Folders
  • Data Processes
  • Custom Fields
  • Auto Import Configurations
  • Raw Clean Map
  • Views
  • Exports
  • Charts
  • Connections
  • Flows

Select the Minitab Connect button to open the Navigation pane. Then open the System tab . Under Tools, open the Users tab .

From here, you can select a user. On the Groups tab, you can see the user group for a user.
Note

If you are an Admin, you can update the user groups for a user.
