Overview for Gage Linearity and Bias Study

Use Gage Linearity and Bias Study to assess the accuracy of your measurement device across its operating range. Select parts that span the operating range of the gage. Each part must have a reference value.

For example, an engineer wants to assess the linearity and bias of a gage. The engineer selects 5 parts that represent the expected range of measurements. Each selected part was measured by layout inspection to determine its master measurement. One operator uses the gage to measure each part 12 times in random order.
