Lock a component to retain its current setting in the optimization plot

The optimization plot lets you interactively change the settings of components. If you change one component, other components must change, too, to keep the total amount constant. If you want a component to remain at its current setting while you change the level of a different component, you can lock the component.

Locking or unlocking a component does not change the current settings of the components. However, the response plots do change. This is because the plot for each component must consider how all the other components will be adjusted as that component changes.

If you cannot lock a component, it is because locking it would not leave any way for the other components to move.

  • Click the brackets beside the name of the component you want to lock.
    An X appears in the brackets, and the vertical line for the locked component changes from red to black.
