Use Brainstorm AI to create an editable brainstorm diagram from images, text descriptions, or both. For example, upload a paper sketch, whiteboard photo, flipchart note, defect image, or screenshot, or enter meeting notes, observations, transcripts, or a defect description.

Start a brainstorm diagram from Minitab Workspace
- From the Minitab Solution Center
Home page, select Minitab Workspace
. - Select Start Brainstorm AI
. - Provide context for the problem you want to solve by completing one or both of
the following options.
- To upload images, select Add, drag/drop, or copy/paste images to the center of the dialog. When converting handwritten sketches or whiteboard diagrams, use clear images with readable text or representative symbols. Supported image formats include JPEG, JPG, PNG, and WEBP.
- Enter a text description of the problem you are trying to solve. Include as much detail as possible, for example, a clear description of the defect or key discussion points from a meeting.
- From Diagram Type, select a diagram layout, such as Fishbone, CT Tree, or Mind Map.
- In Minitab Workspace, you can choose whether to replace the current diagram or create a new diagram because Workspace projects can contain multiple diagrams.
- Select Generate.
- Review the results, then drag the new nodes to arrange the diagram as needed.

Start a brainstorm diagram from Minitab Brainstorm
- From the Minitab Solution Center
Home page, select Minitab Brainstorm
. - Under Start Brainstorm AI
, select Get Started. - Provide context for the problem you want to solve by completing one or both of
the following options.

- In Minitab Brainstorm, Replace current diagram is selected and cannot be changed. To preserve your current diagram in Minitab Brainstorm, open a new diagram and select Brainstorm AI.
- Select Generate.
- Review the results, then drag the new nodes to arrange the diagram as needed.

Start a new diagram from an open brainstorming tool
After you open a brainstorming tool in Minitab Workspace or Minitab Brainstorm, you can continue to use AI to generate brainstorm diagrams from images and text.

In a Minitab Workspace project, when a brainstorming tool is not selected in the navigator pane, select Tools, then select Start Brainstorm AI.
