# Summary functions

You can use the following functions to create summaries for the Dashboard.

Count

The number of times a data field contains a value.

Skipped Count

The number of times a data field does not contain a value.

Skipped count = 1

Total Samples

The total number of projects that are scanned.

Total Samples = Count + Skipped Count

Grouped Count

The number of times a list field contains the same value.

This function applies only to list fields.

Sum

The result of adding all values for a data field.

Mean

The sum of all values for a data field, divided by the total number of projects scanned.

Mean = Sum / Count

Mean = \$48,700

Median

The middle value for a data field in a group of projects. For an even number of projects scanned, the median is the average of the two middle values.

Minimum

The lowest value for a data field in a group of projects.

Standard Deviation

The spread of the data from the mean expressed in the same units as the data.

The spread of the data from the mean.
