Complete the following steps to specify the number of runs for your Taguchi design. You can also add a signal factor, if you have a dynamic response.

For more information on static and dynamic designs, go to Taguchi designs. For more information on factors, go to Factors in Taguchi designs.

- Select the number of runs for your Taguchi design. For example, if you have a 3-level design with 4 factors, you can choose one of the following designs.
- An L9 design has 9 runs. 3
^{4}means 4 factors at 3 levels. - An L27 design has 27 runs. 3
^{4}means 4 factors at 3 levels.

- An L8 design, which has 8 runs, with one 4-level factor (4
^{1}) and one 2-level factor (2^{1}). - An L16 design, which has 16 runs, with one 8-level factor (8
^{1}) and one 2-level factor (2^{1}). - An L18 design, which has 18 runs, with one 2-level factor (2
^{1}) and one 3-level factor (3^{1}). - An L18 design, which has 18 runs, with one 6-level factor (6
^{1}) and one 3-level factor (3^{1}).

- An L9 design has 9 runs. 3
- (Optional) Select Add a signal factor for dynamic characteristics, if you want to add a signal factor for a dynamic response. If you add a signal factor, you must click Factors to specify the signal factor name and level values.
