Before starting, ensure that all three computers involved in the redundant
host setup have network access to each other. All three computers should exist
on the same subnet. These steps assume the three computers are all using a
Windows operating system.
- Install the Minitab License
Manager on each of the three computers in the redundant cluster.
- Note the MAC addresses of each
of the three computers. If you do not know how to find the MAC address, go to
Topic ID 2084.
- Create the license file on the
Multi-User Licensing website by choosing the
3 Redundant Hosts option using the MAC addresses.
- Open Notepad, and then copy
and paste the license information into it.
- Change the first three lines
of the license file. Replace the term,
this_host
, in each line with the name of the host
computer. Also, specify the port number, 27000, after the MAC address. The
following code is an example with host computer names and port numbers:
SERVER Server1 0003ff9856e5 27000
SERVER Server2 00065b1c9f5c 27000
SERVER Server3 000a5e4f9476 27000
- From
Save as type, choose
All Files. Choose
. The
Encoding field should be
ANSI.
- Name the file
minitab.lic.
- Copy the new
minitab.lic file to the Minitab License Manager
installation directory on each computer used in the redundant setup. This
directory is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minitab\License Manager.
- Start the License Manager on
each computer. Type
services.msc in the search box and press
Enter.
