Use the Force Field form to identify criteria that will impact the progress of a project.
The Force Field form answers the following questions.
  • Which criteria have a positive impact on the project?
  • What criteria have a negative impact on the project?

How-to

  1. Assemble a cross-functional group with knowledge of the process.
  2. In the Positive Impact table, identify the criteria that have a positive impact on the progress of the project. Include items such as, cost savings, rapid speed to market, employee support, and emission reductions.
  3. Rate the strength of impact, where 9 signifies high impact on the project and 1 signifies low impact on the project.
  4. In the Negative Impact table, identify the criteria that have a negative impact on the progress of the project. Include items such as, long time to complete, high commitment from an overburdened department, low volume, and lack of management support.
  5. Rate the strength of impact, where 9 signifies high impact on the project and 1 signifies low impact on the project.
