Create steering committees

Create groups of users that are responsible for reviewing project ideas and starting official projects. You can have one general steering committee for all projects, or you can have multiple steering committees.

Create a single steering committee

A single steering committee is appropriate for small deployments where the same group of people can review and approve all project ideas. A single steering committee is defined when a routing field is not selected.

  1. In the web app, select Design. If a sandbox is not available, then create one.
  2. In the sandbox, select Workflow.
  3. Under Steering Committees, select Edit steering committees.
  4. In Route Ideas By, choose None (one general steering committee).
  5. Enter the names of the users to add to the single steering committee.
  6. Select Save.
  7. When you finish your changes in the sandbox and you are satisfied with how they will be applied in the live site, select Publish Changes.

Create multiple steering committees

Multiple steering committees are useful when you have several groups, such as business units, divisions, or departments, operating independently within a deployment. With multiple steering committees, ideas are routed to specific groups for approval and prioritization. Multiple steering committees are defined by a single list field in which each list value is a separate steering committee.

  1. In the web app, select Design. If a sandbox is not available, then create one.
  2. In the sandbox, select Workflow.
  3. Under Steering Committees, select Edit steering committees.
  4. In Route Ideas By, choose a list field. Each list value is a separate steering committee.
  5. Enter the names of the users to add to each steering committee.
  6. Select Save.
  7. When you finish your changes in the sandbox and you are satisfied with how they will be applied in the live site, select Publish Changes.
