A public report is visible to all users. Only data architects can make reports public or edit existing public reports.

Create public reports from the sandbox

As a data architect, you can create or edit public reports from the Dashboard in the sandbox. When you create or edit a public report in the sandbox, you can test the reports before you make them available to all users on the live site.

  1. In the web app, select Design. If a sandbox is not available, then create one.
  2. In the sandbox, select Dashboard.
  3. Choose one of the following options.
    • To edit an existing report, choose Actions > Edit Report.
    • To create a new report, choose Actions > Create New Report.
    • To create a new report from an existing report, choose Actions > Copy Report.
  4. When the report opens in edit mode, complete any of the following tasks. For more information, go to What is edit mode?.
  5. Select Save to save your changes and close edit mode.
  6. Review your changes in the sandbox.
  7. When you are satisfied with your changes, select Publish Changes to apply the changes to the live site.

Create public reports from the dashboard

As a data architect, you can also create or edit public reports from the Dashboard on the live site, but only when a sandbox is not active. When you create or edit a public report from the Dashboard, your changes are applied to live the site after you exit edit mode.

  1. In the web app, select Dashboard.
  2. Choose one of the following options.
    • To edit an existing report, choose Actions > Edit Report.
    • To create a new report, choose Actions > Create New Report.
    • To create a new report from an existing report, choose Actions > Copy Report.
  3. When the report opens in edit mode, complete any of the following tasks.
  4. Select Make Public.
  5. Select Save to save your changes, close edit mode, and apply the changes to the live site.
